In 1971, Jack Tysor and his wife, Georgia founded Anchor Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc. With Jack’s career background on the wholesale side of the industry and then a partner in a large heating and air company, Anchor finds its success drawn from Jack’s experiences. Jack and Georgia quickly built a positive reputation for quality work in the heating and air industry. As a result, local utilities recognized Anchor as a valuable ally in the Good Cents™ installation programs. This then led to successful growth in both the new home and replacement markets.
During this success, Jack stayed committed to his community. He served eight years on the Douglas County School Board in addition to other organizations such as the Boys and Girls Club. Today, Jack remains very active in his church, and is a charter member of the Conditioned Air Association of Georgia and the West Metro Heating and Air Association.
In 1986, Jack and Georgia’s son Barry joined Anchor as a partner. After many years assisting his Dad throughout high school and college, Barry earned his degree in Mechanical Engineering and Technology from Southern Tech. This degree and work experience reinforced his knowledge of the industry. Barry also gained experience as a HVAC inspector for the City of Atlanta.
Jack transferred the roles of President and CEO of Anchor to Barry when his apprenticeship was complete in 2001. With a brief stint in the U.S. Marine Corps, Barry runs Anchor with efficiency and purpose. He has also served as President of the Metro Atlanta Air Conditioning Contractors Association.
Today, Anchor has 25 trucks and boasts the coveted Trane® Comfort Specialist™ designation. Only contractors who meet stringent manufacturer requirements each year are awarded this honor. To continue serving customers and the community, Anchor’s team consists of experienced comfort experts that are well versed in today’s technologies, comfort issues and indoor air quality challenges.
